Bookings are essential, to avoid dissapointment with urgent firings we recommend bookings are to be made at least 10 working days in advance.

All firing orders must be accompanied by a completed "Firing Form"
Please download the Firing Form, to submit with your pieces for firing, being sure to accept the terms and conditions.

PRIVATE CLASSES + EVENTS

All events are held onsite at our studio in Parramatta, Sydney.
Some of the classes that we offer are 'transportable' and we may be able to come to you.
We can accommodate up to 10 students at our Rosebery studio, should we be teaching offsite at your nominated venue, our allocation is 10 students per teacher.

If you can't find a class you are looking for, can't make a class time or are looking for training in a special technique, please contact us to discuss the possibility of a private class. Private classes are held at our Rosebery studio and in some cases, may be held at the tutors private studio.

A visit to a working jewellery studio can be an excellent excursion for your Art and Design students.

Sydney Jewellery School offers both a workshop tour accompanied by a
short talk, or a hands on short class for students and / or teachers.
Allow 3 hours for the class and a 45 min talk/tour.

MAKE YOUR OWN WEDDING RINGS

SJS is delighted to help you make your own beautifully crafted wedding bands or engagement ring. This service is available through our metalwork teacher and jeweller, Melanie Ihnen via her own gallery and studio Studio Atelier 20/17 based in Clarence Street, Sydney.

Under the guidance of Melanie, you will be able to translate your vision into an heirloom piece reflecting your commitment to each other.

Wedding Artisan is for one or two participants and includes an initial 30 minute design consultation prior to the day where you can work through your concepts and discuss materials and manufacturing techniques, plus a private tutor for the whole day, where your ideas become reality.

MAKE YOUR OWN WEDDING RINGS

The techniques used are suitable for any skill level, and ensure that you take away a special piece of jewellery as well as the joy of having created it. Each artisan will experience ring making techniques such as saw piercing, soldering, filing, shaping and polishing the rings.

Melanie will guide you through the process, to demonstrate techniques, and to do the hard and messy bits for you!

The cost is $800 for 6 hours, material costs are additional and will vary depending on the design and metals chosen.
