As a multi media artist, Roz has explored many mediums over the years to create wearable art, jewellery and objét d’ art. She comes from a very talented family of women who encouraged her at every opportunity to explore her creativity. Initially starting in the areas of textiles, hand embroidery and the dyeing of fabrics to create clothing that was both unique and wearable. She soon discovered that her clothing required jewelery that was not readily available so she commenced a life long journey learning to make her own.
Polymer, Glass, Felting, Beadweaving, Anodising Metals, working in Acrylics/Plastics and resins, the list grew over the years. Whilst Roz still works in these mediums for her own work, her overarching loves have been in the 'plastic' world working in rubber, latex, polymer clay, resin and acrylics, these are the areas that she teaches in the most.
In 2006, she opened her Eclectic Studio business, teaching from her home studio. The business took off and soon, other teachers joined her and she moved to a larger premise in Marrickville. January 2012 saw the Eclectic Studio split into two formal companies with Sydney Jewellery School becoming the teaching arm and The Eclectic Studio the supply of tools and equipment for the jewellery artisan. It was at this time, Roz bought the premise that SJS is now housed in.
Her passion for the school, her own work, marketed under her brand, My Alter Ego, and teaching leave only short pockets of time where she indulges in her other great love, travel.
