Olgney has a strong interest in arts and crafts, being trained in the art of handmade paper by the Capellades Paper Mill Museum in Spain. Her passion for handmade paper, using different fibres, sizes, colors and watermarks progressed to handmade jewellery in which she uses a diversity of materials. Olgney is a qualified trainer with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and has been making jewellery for about 11 years. Her background in environmental management and forestry gives her a deep appreciation of how important the recycling of materials is in the creation of new jewellery. Lately Olgney has tutored handmade jewellery classes privately, in Community Centres and in Community Colleges. Olgney is a patient teacher and believes that everyone can tap into their creativity to produce wonderful jewellery pieces.
