CLASS DESCRIPTION

When only a 3 hour taster class was on offer, Roz Eberhard set about developing a 2 day workshop in resin that explored this wonderful media in more depth. SJS set the benchmark for this class and continues to offer this excellent workshop 10 years after its initial development. Roz still has the same passion for resin as she had 10 years ago and has continued to add to this class as she continues her studies in this medium, both nationally, and in the U.K. and Portugal.

A total of 12 hours spread over two days will be spent on creating beautiful jewellery items. This workshop uses overnight curing Epoxy resin which  allows for a greater flexibility to imbed objects, explore colour mixing etc without time constraints. Chunky bangles, pendants and earrings can all be cast.

Students are welcome to bring their own moulds if they wish, however a large number of pre-made moulds are available to choose from and this is not necessary. We also encourage particpants to bring a variety of items to the workshops to facilitate their explorations in resin. See 'what to bring' for suggestions.

PREVIOUS STUDENTS HAVE SAID

"This two day course will teach you all you need to know about making beautiful resin pieces.  I learnt how to make a bangle and some rings, then learnt how to finish them off so they look stunning.  I was beyond pleased with the results.  I would recommend this course to anyone who loves resin jewellery as it is a chance to make something truly unique." Roz Brown

"I adored this class. Roz is a fantastic teacher, and has taught me so many skills that I've been able to build on, and has continued to provide support whenever I've needed it. I'm now selling my own resin jewellery, and enjoy every minute of creating thanks to Roz and Sydney Jewellery School." Sarah Ezzy-Dickson

"Resin is a difficult medium with which to get consistent results every time unless you know what it should do and what it can't do. You don't often know if the result you achieved was consistent with the type of resin you used, with the inclusion(s) or object you were coating, with the technique you were using or with the conditions under which you were working. This class allowed me to hone in and understand some of the problems I was having in my own home studio while working with resin. It showed me what to expect and gave me the confidence to move forward with designing and producing resin for jewellery." Kay Pittelkow
